يلقى البحث الضوء على صورة الكرد في المصادر الادبية العربية، وصورة امراء الكردبشكل خاص، ويظهر تحيز الشعراء والادباء الى جانب جيش الخليفة وحلفائه في قصائدهم كونهم السلطة الحاكمة، ومن ناحية اخرى حاولت تلك النخبة الاقتراب من السلطة عن طريق القصائد وغيرها من النصوص الادبية، وعلى الرغم من ذلك فقد اشارت الكتب الادبية الى بعض أمراء الكرد ودورهم القتالي، كما كان للكرد مساهمة كبيرة في مساعدة الاخرين وقت الحاجة واللجوء الى معاقل وبلدان الكرد في الشدائد، وركز البحث ايضاً على صفة من صفات الكرد الا وهي الشجاعة إذ ورد نماذج عدة تبين تلك الميزة عند الكرد وامرائهم.
